144C. Generational Psychological Loops
Similar to regular supply chains, feelings can create complex chains that travel around the world and are capable of surviving long after their creators have passed away.
Sometimes I tell people that on one side there is science, on the other spirituality, and somewhere in the middle is the Truth.
Similarly I explain that wars are won when you break the morale and/or supply chains of your opponent. But if you can consider the creation, reproduction, and transmission of feelings as something that is supplied, feelings can themselves become supply chains.
I asked AI if this concept already existed, and it suggested the two closest matches were Transgenerational Trauma and Emotional Inheritance. Both of those terms imply that it is something you get stuck with because the previous generation left something unresolved that was handed off to their children, perhaps for them to solve long after the holders of the original experience died.
Much like spirituality, this concept of transgenerational feelings is something that’s hard to touch or measure, but they are very real. To some, they can be the most important things in the world. More important than wealth or even food.
When the feeling is related to some trauma that your ancestors experienced at the hands of a different “tribe”, this can create a “Tribal Debt” that reinforces a Small Tribe World View, which I explained in my paper on how to use neuroscience to build better teams. The most productive teams are those built from people who have Large Tribe Worldviews. The reason “DEI” initiatives fail is because they almost universally are led by people with Small Tribe World Views that create teams that match their Small Tribe. As proven by Google’s Project Aristotle mega research project, a Small Tribe built around the ideology of “White”, or “Black”, or “Christian”, or “Atheist”, or “Scientist”, or “People I Went to School With” is going to underperform compared to a Large Tribe that may or may not contain any of those ideologies.
Every Small Tribe built around a generational trauma is trained to respond to the source of that trauma. Understanding this all too well at the age of 14, I used this knowledge to manipulate voters in West Los Angeles to vote for “Bomber” Bob Dornan even though the people in WLA were mostly part of the “Liberal” Small Tribe and Bob was an extreme example of the “Conservative” Small Tribe. I was able to do this because both of those Small Tribes in that area were programmed from birth to fear Middle Easterners, or hold a generational debt against them. So I told them the Middle Easterners were coming and only Bob would be strong enough to defend them. Of course I didn’t mention to them that I was Middle Eastern as they might have realized they were being manipulated.
These sorts of manipulations are extremely easy to perform and are very effective. Anyone with a Small Tribe worldview is vulnerable, and I would estimate that over 90% of people have Small Tribe worldviews. The power of psychometric modelling is that it allows computers to place people into Small Tribe “Baskets” based on their ideology and the responses on social media. Millions of people can be accurately sorted in just minutes by a Data Center. The reason this was so effective in the UK and USA elections in 2016 (and since then) was because canvassers (the people that go door to door to get people to go out and vote) can look on their ipad and see which Tribes are in which houses, and then they know what sorts of prejudices to manipulate after the residents open their door to talk. Today you don’t even need canvassers, social media does that automatically for whoever pays/directs it.
This is also how sociopaths operate. As my long time readers know, my father was a criminally convicted and institutionalized violent sociopath. Thus I got a really good education on the subject of identifying and understanding sociopathic behavior. An effective sociopath (if they aren’t in jail, they are effective) will survey the people they work with or go to school with to see if they have any prejudices. This is easy. They can then just off handedly mention that some other co-worker has a trait that might trigger that prejudice. Once they’ve got everyone’s number, they are in control of the entire space, and can purge anyone that might be a competitor or obstacle.
Politicians are people who are experts at this technique of polarizing and exploiting Small Tribers. Nationalism is the idea that your country (a Tribe) is better than any other country. This is a very popular Small Tribe and some political parties even have the world Nationalist in their names. Religions or even economic models can be ideologies which Small Tribes are built around.
Combining Nationalism with a Transgenerational Trauma from another nation/ethnicity is extremely effective. If the promoters of this social control system then write this “history” down in books and songs to teach children, multiple generations can be taught with specific prejudices generation after generation. If you are wondering how China could be upset about something that happened in 1839, as I discussed in the previous two papers, this is how it is done.
In WW2 the USA conducted these sorts of propaganda campaigns against the Japanese, and even played cartoons between movies at the cinema where the Japanese were drawn as devils.
This was one such propaganda cartoon created by Dr. Seuss. AI really didn’t want to help me search for this. Note that hitting cows in the head with nails is also how we “process” them in slaughterhouses.
I hope you find this offensive. But part of why you find this offensive is because after WW2, Americans were reprogrammed to see the Japanese as “Part of the American Tribe” after we nuclear bombed them and they unconditionally surrendered. The USA and Japan soon became allies. This reconciliation never happened between the West and China, and Chinese children are still raised on cartoons like these. Since American children don’t get a similar indoctrination, they don’t realize their inclusiveness is not reciprocated. American children are trained to shoot Middle Easterners instead…
The Japanese in American culture were replaced by non Jewish Middle Easterners after the 1979 revolution in Iran and the extended hostage crisis organised by the Republicans to win the 1980 election. I regret participating in this villanization of Middle Easterners in American culture, but honestly Small Tribers really are easy to manipulate and I wanted to win a bet my teacher made that my candidate would lose. Now that programming is automated via psychometric modelling and social app algorithms.
Just like politicians, social media app algorithms know that you can get Small Tribers to lower their guard by showing them content that they find “In-Tribe” by advertisers, while alarming them with non-Tribe (Xeno) content.
The problem here with political activity from intensely nationalistic governments (nationalism is sweeping the globe right now because of the aforementioned technologies) and social media apps is that the result is that almost everyone becomes a Small Triber. Maintaining a widely tolerant attitude to others becomes almost impossible.
This creates a number of globally systemic problems:
People are easier to manipulate
Almost all teams become Small Tribe and thus have inferior productivity
Hiring/Admissions are not merit based
Humans become more aggressive
“Mixed” communities are demoralized
Vulnerability to Sociopathic Gaslighting
Countries are pre-conditioned for war, including civil wars
That last condition is really key. The reason the USA put out cartoons like that Dr. Seuss one (and he did a lot of those cartoons) was because if you can dehumanize another Tribe, it becomes okay to kill them. You see this happening right now in hot spots around the world, with highly Nationalized countries just killing without restraint or regret.
With little effort these “Emotion Loops” can be maintained for centuries, and they become systemic poison that’s even harder to get rid of than mine fields left over from previous wars. Like land mines, they are cheap and convenient. Land mines are probably the cheapest possible weapon. They are popular because you get a lot of “bang for your buck”. But they don’t care who steps on them, and will kill children or animals also, even decades after being placed.
These cheap psychological tricks are just like physical land mines. They can self-replicate and sit around for centuries until detonated. The first Crusade was in 1096, and they went on for 200 years. But Small Tribers have kept those Emotional Loops alive for a Millenia and they are still being used to dehumanize people sufficiently to permit wars.
The solution is to promote Large Tribe Worldviews , which is not really an ideology. It’s more the antidote to ideology. It’s also great for business as it actually delivers the improved performance that people falsely claim that DEI will deliver. As I’m going to talk about in my next paper, if you are going to start a large studio it is very important to make sure the head has a Large Tribe Worldview. Otherwise, the entire organisation will be recruited as a Small Tribe. The result is fear, toxic positivity, ideology, and infighting. This is exactly what you see now all across the Interactive Media industry today.
